Graduate assistantships

Financial support for Ph.D. students, awarded on a competitive basis, is available from the VCU School of Medicine, training grants and departmental sources. Such support provides a basic stipend of $21,000 annually for full-time students along with tuition and fee support and health insurance.

Outstanding applicants are eligible for Awards of Excellence, which can supplement the standard stipend.

All Ph.D. applicants are eligible for graduate assistantships including international students. A separate application is not necessary to be considered for these assistantships.
